How it comes together

A Prim is the file. A tool hits it. An applet is the bench a person opens. A process is one house’s order of those hits. The category still has two nouns: prims and tools. An applet is a composition. A process, written down, is a prim.

    The file

    A Prim stores the work at any completeness. Empty, half filled, published: same type. Draft is a status on the file, not a second kind of file.

    You send the prim. You do not send the sheet it could become.

  2. 2 · tool

    The blow

    A Prim Tool does one pairing. Surface talks to a person. Connector talks to a system. Draft, lock, verify, publish are tools. They cite a type. They are not types.

    If it is not surface or connector, it is a script.

  3. 3 · applet

    The bench

    An applet is a composition you open. It cites prims. It may cite tools. Secrets, Approvals, a desk that shows blockers — those are applets. Not a type. Not a third tool kind. Do not mint prim.applet.

  4. 4 · process

    The procedure

    How a shop gets from raw material to something it will stand behind is its process: roles, tools, gates, who can kill the line, who can publish. The category does not ship one. A newsroom can line-check a monthly and only check the lede on a daily, and still emit the same kind of store. That is two process prims, not a flag in the runner.

    If the procedure should travel with the piece, store it as a Prim and cite it. Pin id and hash. Next month’s pack is a new file. August still points at the one that ran. A process prim does not run itself. A connector walks it. The walk writes a log.

    Most prims never cite a process. An album with a player is already done.

Cite, don’t pour

Send a bundle. Keep the authorities apart. The magazine face points at the others. It does not copy their claims into its own store.

The model does not invent journalism. It opens process-23, walks those tools, writes a new workpiece, and cites that hash. Publish still stops at a person if 23 says so.

What this is not

Forge is a house name for a bundle of tools and applets. Machine is a connector on a clock. Useful in the mouth. Not registry rows.
